KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
WE STILL NEED MORE RESIDENTS RECYCLING TO SEE THE SAVINGS!
A BIG THANK YOU to those that are recycling. In order to reduce costs associated with the trash compactor, we need MORE RESIDENTS recycling. Please talk to your neighbors - We aren't even at 50%. For your convenience, we have listed below the items that we handle. Please be aware that we must RINSE out all containers before putting in the recycling bins. We are expanding our recycling area so we will have more capacity for all the residents to recycle!
* We accept these items in the containers marked “PLASTIC, GLASS, & ALUMINUM”:
-Aluminum cans, foil, pie pans
-plastic containers and bottles
-Steel (tin) cans
* We accept these items in the containers marked "NEWSPAPERS/OFFICE PAPER ONLY": NO PLASTIC BAGS IN NEWSPAPER/OFFICE PAPERS BINS
-Newspaper (do not put papers in plastic bags)
-Office paper, INCLUDING WINDOW ENVELOPES
DUE TO IMPROPER USE OF THE PAPER RECYCLING CONTAINER BY THE MAILBOXES, WE HAD TO REMOVE the recycling bin. It has been contaminated over and over with food/drink and we are unable to recycle the contents. Please take junk mail to the PAPER recycling bins by the trash compactor.
Please put your FOOD GARBAGE in the trash compactor and NOT in the recycling bins. This practice is ruining our efforts to recycle properly.
* We CANNOT accept:
-Cardboard. This includes pizza boxes
-Mirrors, light bulbs
-Kitty litter, potting soil, clothing, household garbage, appliances, yard tools
-Any containers that have contained chlorine, paint, pesticides, acid or any hazardous materials
-Any waxed paper products, photos, film or carbon paper
Thank you for your effort in recycling, together we can make a difference!!!!
THE MORE RECYCLING WE DO, THE LESS TRASH WE HAVE.
THE LESS TRASH IN THE COMPACTOR, THE MORE MONEY WE SAVE!!
100% participation = Savings of $12-15,000 in sanitation pick-up costs!
